CALENDAR
if no calendar appears, please refresh page

– We will not be wearing uniforms. There are too many obstacles to make it happen.
– All wind and percussion students will wear khaki shorts, band shirt, and tennis shoes. Please acquire a pair of khaki shorts that fit you well (not baggy or too short – school dress code applies). We will transition to jeans as weather changes.
– Color Guard students have already been contacted about our alternate costume choice.
– ALL Varsity football games kick-off at 7:00 PM.
– For our new students/families, the Buckhorn Band does not take buses to in-county away games. We only take buses to out-of-county away games.
– Call time for away games = 5:30 AT the away venue (details sent week of)
– Please coordinate rides well ahead of time.
– We will sit at 6 foot spacing in the stands. (6 foot “triangulated windows” front to back)

– Home game (Senior Night) this Friday versus Decatur – we will release at 3:30 but call time will be 5:00 instead of 5:30 so we can warm-up and prepare for Senior Night pregame festivities that we will perform earlier before the game.
SENIOR info: Seniors need to report to the band room by 5:00 to change into uniform. Then report to the stadium by 5:45 with parent/guardian escorts.
Should go without saying but clean your marching shoes, wash and brush you hair, pull it back and look your best! After pre-game senior night festivities, seniors will return to the band room to change into our regular performance attire and join the rest of the band in the stands.
Fall Break PROTOCOL – It has always been my policy not to require student participation during commonly recognized holidays or school calendar breaks. Therefore, as before, we will not have rehearsals during the week of Fall break.
However, we strive to support the school, football team, and community at the varsity football game during Fall break, October 9th at home versus Athens.
Any student who is out of town and unavailable will not be penalized. Any student who is in town is asked to come and support our performance. It will be a bonus 100 point test grade.
We will meet on our field at 5:00 to take roll, warm-up, and coordinate how we’ll do things. During half-time, we may perform show music from the stands if too many students are missing.
