BHS Veteran’s Program

If you haven’t seen the BHS Veteran’s Day Program information, please help us share it to anyone you know.  We want to honor ALL of our nation’s veterans, as we know many of them do not get the salute and welcome they deserve when they come home.  Our band students of course will be performing some incredible musical works as part of this great program on Thursday, November 10th at Buckhorn, to include the following 3 parts.  Please help us invite our veterans.

This years Veterans Day Breakfast hosted by FBLA and the Culinary Class for veterans and their family guests starts at 9:00am and concludes at 10:20am in the Buckhorn (Sarah Fanning) Library. Please RSVP to Buckhorn High School at (256) 851-3300 or (256) 851-3303 so we know how many veterans and family guests to prepare for. 

We will host our annual Veterans Memorial Ceremony immediately following the veterans breakfast at 10:30am to 10:45am at the Buckhorn High School Veterans Memorial. The cermony includes reading the names of all the veterans that have had a brick pavers installed at the base of the Veterans Memorial since last year’s ceremony.  We will ring a bell after the names of veterans who’ve passed away since the last ceremony and play “Taps.” This ceremony is to honor all the veterans who’ve served.

Finally, the 24th annual Veterans Day Assembly will start at approximately 10:50am in the Gold Gym.  Veterans and their guests will be honored by the Buckhorn HS Band, the Choir, JROTC, Cheerleaders and Dance Team. The Student Ambassadors and SCA also help out with the entire days events. The assembly will conclude at approximately 11:30am
