2019 New York City Trip Details & Sign-Ups:
All the details of our trip to New York City next April have been finalized. Sign-ups are easy, all done online. The attached Zip folder has two documents – one is the details of the trip and cost; the other is instructions for signing up and the pay schedule. We will need several chaperons!
Please read these important notes as we kick off sign-ups: (I’ve tried to keep it brief but also heading off questions as I know many will want to know these things.)
*This trip is not required. Everything except some meals is included in the cost of the trip, which makes this a huge opportunity for many students/families. I announce it at this time to give everyone an entire year to afford it.
*Our program takes a big trip in the Spring every two years.
*Please keep in mind that a student/parent cannot go on the trip if the student’s band fees have not been paid by that time (March, April 2019), regardless of the trip being paid to a third party.
*All payments go to the travel agency. Do not submit trip payments to me / the band.
*Band account/fee credits can only be used after all fees are paid, which wouldn’t be until next Spring so a deposit and subsequent payments will be necessary.
*The upper and lower city tours of Manhattan include getting on and off of the bus – i.e. we will actually tour the 9/11 Memorial, Central Park, etc. The NYPhilharmonic concert will blow your socks off and the Broadway show will be the highlight for many!
*The first 50 paying passengers will secure a spot on Bus 1. The next 29 (51-79) will be on a waiting list until at least an additional 30 sign-up to secure a second bus. Furthermore, two buses is what we need (minimum of 80 paying passengers) to keep our initial price point.
