This Friday the Buckhorn Band will perform at a pre-MPA assessment at Bob Jones High School. This is a very important pre-assessment for our band. Please read the following details for this event. What is this? This event is a performance by the band for three qualified local judges that will give suggestions and comments about our MPA music. We also use this time to perform in an auditorium so students may become better acquainted with performing in a different setting. In addition, because we no longer have a District Assessment this event will be very important for students and the director to receive feedback before they are assessed at the highest standards of the year. Times:
Attire:Students should wear their tux/dress to this event. Because the call time is so soon after school, students may elect to bring their uniforms to school on Friday morning. Travel Rules:All students must travel to this event on the school bus that will depart from Buckhorn High School at 4:30pm. Students may travel home with their parent or legal guardian after performing at Bob Jones. A parent or legal guardian MUST BE PRESENT in order to sign out their child from this event. If the parent or legal guardian is not present at this event then the student may not leave with anyone. If a parent is present to sign the student out they may leave at any time after we perform. A bus list will be available Friday morning in the band room. All students must sign their OWN name. Any student signing someone else's name on the list will be moved to a location of Mr. Raney's choice. Boys and girls will not be allowed to sit together. Equipment/StagingWe will not travel with an equipment truck. All instruments and equipment will be placed at the back of the bus. Most percussion instruments will be provided. AudienceThis event is free to attend and everyone is welcome hear us perform. Musicians love to perform for a large crowd so invite everyone to come out and witness this informal event. |
