The next BHS Band Boosters meeting will be held in the band room on Monday, March 8th at 6pm.  This will be a very important meeting in that the Band needs everyone’s help to make Family Fun Night, our big spring fundraiser, a success.

Family Fun Night will be the primary topic of discussion at the meeting.  Please note that this fundraising event provides the Band with a significant amount of its spring income and helps students pay their fees at the same time.

Everyone, parents and students alike, are being asked to help make Family Fun Night a success by signing up to work at least one shift at the fundraising event.  While no one person should have to commit too much of their time, we’d like to get as much participation as possible so that a small group of the parents and students aren’t trying to do everything.

As it will take a moderate number of people to run all of the various activities, we really must have a significant level of support from the parents and students.  Please consider helping to make this year’s event a big success.  Sign-up sheets will be available at the meeting for the various tasks that need to be supported.  Additionally, those working the event will receive credit towards paying their fees.  The exact amount of credit earned will depend upon the number of 1-hour shifts worked and how successful the event is.

Parents and students are being asked to sign up to work at least one shift from any of the following:

  1. Game & dinner ticket sales,
  2. Prize drawing ticket sales,
  3. Silent Auction,
  4. Games,
  5. Concessions,
  6. Bingo,
  7. Wii/Playstation tournaments
  8. Dinner,
  9. Set-up,
  10. Clean-up

Besides the discussion of Family Fun Night, other topics to be discussed include the following:

  1. Up-coming events
  2. Fundraising, including the EAA breakfast activity
  3. Band finances
  4. Selection of officers for next year’s Band Boosters – elections will be in April
  5. May 18th Band Banquet

Finally, as everyone must turn in a notarized “Out-of-Town/Overnight Field Trip Medical Release Form” in order to travel to the Music Performance Assessment (MPA) at Decatur High School on March 26th, Connie Glass will be available at the meeting to notarize medical forms.  Please take advantage of Connie’s offer to notarize band students’ forms.
