Suzie Kinsey led the meeting because Bill Kerns was out of town.  

Board will be presenting changes to the by-laws at the Feb. Booster meeting.  We will vote on those changes at the March meeting.

We would like to do a spring fundraiser, and are looking for volunteers to run that.  If you have any suggestions for fund raisers, please let us know.  Some ideas are:

Chicken stew dinner

Pizza/cookie dough sales

We bring in about $300.00 per quarter from the Publix fundraiser.  Please pick up a Publix keychain to scan every time you shop at Publix.   Make sure it says Buckhorn Band, not just Buckhorn High School.  You can use these at any Publix in all cities and states.  Also, you can scan as many key chains as you want to support different schools.  If you forget yours or loose it, you can pick more up at Publix or they have extra they will scan for you if you ask.

Spring Band contracts have been passed out and must be signed and returned.  Please mark whether you child will or will not be going on the spring trip.  The trip deposit of $50.00 is due Feb. 14.  If you have credits carried over from fall fundraisers, you can just mark to apply credits towards the deposit.

This year’s trip will be to Myrtle Beach for 4 days (Thur-Sun).  We will be participating in the Festival Concert, so we will need enough students and the right instruments in order to go.  The total cost will not go much higher than $400.0 per student.  Chaperones will go through a different agency and should cost about $350.00  

The spring band fee of $75.00 is due on April 1.

Our old band website is broke.  Mr. Raney is currently working toward setting up a new website. Go to http://new.buckhornband.com  You can find our schedule on the Google calendar.  We will continue to use our old message board for the rest of this year.

Feb. 15 is our District Assessment at Grissom High School.

Feb. 7 is Pre-District at Bob Jones High

March 17-21 is Spring Break

March 13&14 is state competition (it will not be in Huntsville this year)
